If you’re looking for a great workout for burning fat fast try walking, jogging or running on sand. According to studies you can burn up to twice as many calories. This is due to the uneven surface of sand and having to expend more energy. Of course, the softer the sand, the harder you’ll work.

Although walking in bare feet feels wonderful on the sand, if you’re going to be doing lots of beach walking, I’d recommend wearing a good pair of trainers. These will help with support and prevent any injuries.

Living close to a beach, I’m lucky enough to be able to include sand walking, at least once or twice a week, into my regular workout routine. This morning, being a gorgeous sunny day, I walked the length of Palm Beach and back in just under an hour. According to my heart rate monitor I burned 614 calories which is pretty good for burning fat fast!

For an even more challenging workout, try running up and down the sand dunes. This is excellent for interval training and can be lots of fun to do with a group of friends. After all the hard work, you can relax into the ocean for a refreshing dip or head to the local cafe!

Whether you’re walking, jogging or running on the sand, you’ll not only be burning fat fast, you’ll also get a great leg workout, especially for your thighs and calves.
