Your fat burning zone is when you are training at 60-70% of your maximum heart rate. This is a moderate and comfortable zone and often the easiest to maintain for this very reason.
Training in this zone will burn the majority of calories from your fat stores, making it ideal to lose weight. As an example, an average person, training in the fat burning zone will burn around 100 calories every 10 minutes. Of these 100 calories approximately 85 of these are from fat, 10 from carbohydrates and five from protein.
An effective weekly workout routine to burn fat, therefore, would be to exercise in this training zone for at least 20 minutes, five days a week. It is recommended you mix up your exercises to keep you motivated and interested. You can choose various exercises such as swimming, walking, biking, circuit training, treadmill workouts, elliptical exercise, steppers, and so on.
There is plenty of choice and the good thing is that 20 minutes is very achievable.
