<ol>
<li>Fresh fish<br />
High in protein and low in fat, fresh fish will leave you feeling nicely full. Grill or lightly bbq in foil with a sprinkle of lemon pepper and some lemon juice.</li>
<li>Chicken breast<br />
Lower in fat than red meat, chicken is a good option for a healthy, nutritious dinner. Stir fry with fresh vegetables or grill and serve with a salad.</li>
<li>Lean cold meat<br />
Another good source of protein, lean, cold meats such as ham or turkey can be sliced up and served with salad for a quick, low fat meal.</li>
<li>Vegetables<br />
Steamed vegetables are full of nutrition and contain many necessary vitamins and minerals. Choose a variety such as carrots, broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower. Lightly steam and sprinkle with a bit of lemon juice and cracked pepper.</li>
<li>Salads<br />
All sorts of salads are a great addition to your dinner. Use rocket, baby spinach, lettuce mixed with cucumber, tomatoes, avocados, etc.</li>
<li>Soup<br />
An excellent light meal, make a fresh pot of vegie soup with any left overs you may have. Serve with a couple of slices of wholegrain bread.</li>
<li>Baked beans<br />
If you&#8217;re short of time and want a nutritious meal, full of fibre and low in fat, baked beans are an easy meal to prepare.</li>
<li>Eggs<br />
High in protein, eggs are another quick and easy meal to prepare. Poached, scrambled, boiled or an omelette are the healthiest ways to prepare eggs. </li>
<li>Legumes<br />
Great for vegetarians, legumes such as chickpeas and kidney beans are full of nutrition and very low in fat. Add to a vegie curry or salad.</li>
<li>Mushrooms<br />
Extremely nutritious, low in fat and high in fibre, mushrooms can be added to a rice dish or served on toast with eggs.</li>
<li>Brown rice<br />
A much better alternative to any of the white rices, brown rice is low GI and low fat. Serve with fish or chicken and vegies for a complete, healthy meal.</li>
<li>Fruit<br />
Rather than finishing your meal with a dessert, have a piece of fruit instead if you&#8217;re really wanting to lose weight.</li>
<li>Yoghurt<br />
A good source of calcium, yoghurt can be added to fruit after your main meal or you can have it on it&#8217;s own.</li>
<li>Dark chocolate<br />
A couple of pieces of dark chocolate are a nice way to end your meal. If you can&#8217;t stop at two, however, don&#8217;t touch it!</li>
<li>Red wine<br />
Like dark chocolate, red wine is full of anti-oxidants and a glass with your evening meal is a nice way to relax.</li>
