Share

Here is a list of fat burning foods that will pump up your metabolism and help with fat loss.

Along with these fat burning foods, you should also be consuming small, regular meals as this will keep your metabolism up avoiding storing excess fat. Eating regular meals is far better for burning fat than skipping meals as the actual digestion of food stimulates your metabolism.

LSA

A very pleasant tasting mix of ground linseed, sunflower seeds and almonds. Due to the high fiber content of LSA, you feel fuller for longer after consuming it. Delicious sprinkled on your morning porridge or muesli, mixed in with salads, or added to a protein shake.

Hot and Spicy Foods

Chillis, horseradish, mustard, tabasco, wasabi, curry pastes and other hot and spicy foods are all excellent for shooting your metabolism up. Just take it easy on the rice that often goes with these fat burning foods.

Fish

Many types of fish, when eaten, will increase the production of leptin. This hormone encourages your body to burn calories for energy and not stored as fat. The best fish to chose are salmon, trout and tuna as well as white fish such as cod and snapper.

Green Tea

Drinking one or two cups of green tea every day, can help you to burn fat faster. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is the chemical found in green tea that is also a powerful antioxidant.

Rye Bread

The darker the better, rye bread is an excellent source of fiber that will keep your metabolism working, even for some time after you’ve eaten it.

Chocolate

Everyone’s favorite! Before you go out and gorge yourself though you need to make sure it’s the right chocolate. You must choose the high quality, dark variety which is made from unprocessed raw cocoa.

You can also buy a good quality, raw cocoa powder from your local health food shop and sprinkle this on your morning porridge or muesli (along with your LSA) or in a protein shake.

Research has shown that adding cocoa to your diet can increase your fat burning ability while exercising.

Speaking of fat burning exercises, you need to ensure that along with including the above list of fat burning foods into your diet you should also be exercising regularly and at high intensities if you want to burn fat effectively and in the long term.
