The best place to start if you want to lose belly fat is to incorporate an effective cardiovascular program into your weekly exercise routine. There are many cardio exercises to choose from including running, walking, cycling, and swimming. If you have access to a gym or if you have a home gym with some cardio equipment, you may also choose treadmill workouts, elliptical exercise, stationary bike, or rowing.
It’s a great idea to mix up your cardio exercise for two main reasons. Firstly, it will break the boredom of doing the same routine day-in and day-out which could cause you to give up before you see any satisfactory results. Secondly, if you do the same cardio exercise all the time, your body will easily adapt to one particular workout. This would not give you the desired effect if you seriously want to lose belly fat.
It is recommended that you include at least three high intensity cardio workouts each week, depending on your fitness level. If you are just starting out you’ll need to start off gently. If you’ve been ill or have not exercised in a long time please seek medical advice before embarking on a new exercise routine. Depending on how much belly fat you want to lose, you can increase your weekly cardio workouts to five or six.
