A great way to keep track of where you’re at with your regular treadmill workouts is to keep a treadmill exercise log. This doesn’t have to be fancy or elaborate, just a weekly record of some of the important aspects of your workouts.
You can either make a simple spreadsheet on your computer or just use a pad and rule some lines for columns.
In the first column put the date and day of the week. The next column put in the total time of your workout. If you use a heart rate monitor you can make extra columns for the calories you have burned, and your average and maximum heart rate. Finally have a column for notes and put in how you felt – was it hard on a particular day or easy?
Keeping a weekly treadmill exercise log, is an excellent way to keep you motivated because you can look back on your week. You can either pat yourself on the back or decide that you need to improve your treadmill workouts for the week ahead.
